Flying high in Rothenburg’s climbing forest

On over 145 climbing elements in 14 courses of varying difficulty, adventure, action and fun for young and old await you in the Kletterwald Rothenburg o.d.t.. While the sloth course is already suitable for children from 5 years, the howler monkey course is aimed at experienced climbers.
Whether swinging on the Tarzan rope, balancing over wobbly bridges, climbing steep walls or flying through the forest on ropes up to 120 meters long – everyone will find their personal challenge here.
Theme park Ziegler
The petting zoo Ziegler makes the heart of every child beat faster. Children can experience animals such as ponies, goats, rabbits and various types of chickens up close. If that’s not enough, they can let off steam in the on-site playground and sandbox, go for a ride on the carousel or climb the climbing tower. Reinforcements in between are also provided at the kiosk in the beer garden.
Playmobil FunPark Zirndorf
In Zirndorf near Nuremberg is the Playmobil FunPark, a theme park for small as well as large lovers of Playmobil. Here, every child gets his or her money’s worth. Lovingly designed theme worlds invite children to play, romp, discover and marvel on 90,000 square meters. Whether fairy, fireman or pirate – only here can children get to know their toy heroes in life-size. The highlights of the park include the legendary Playmobil pirate ship and the police station.
The theme park focuses on being active, stimulating the senses and playing. The park is also ideal for smaller children to learn in a playful way.
Predator and exotic animal asylum
Enthusiastic predator fans take note. On the first Sunday of every month there is an open day. There you can experience rescued animals up close. The predator and exotic animal asylum in Ansbach is a sanctuary for predatory cats, primates and exotics of all kinds in need. Here animals from illegal or bad attitude are given a new home and are offered a life as species-appropriate as possible.
Currently, Siberian tigers, a puma, lynxes, a caracal, Bengal cats, a red fox, an arctic fox, a serval and some small animals like ferrets and degus live there.
Horse farm Steinhof
For horse lovers, the Steinhof equestrian farm is recommended. On the approx. 4 km long circular trail “Horseshoe Trail” the children are guided by their parents over forest and meadow paths, around the farm. The pony walk takes about 45-60 minutes. It is important to wear sturdy shoes as well as long pants and a bicycle helmet.
On the equestrian farm there is also a small restaurant for the hunger in between as well as a playground.
You can also visit the riding stable, which houses about 70 horses and ponies.
